Cookies & On-device Data

October 25, 2026

The Service uses browser cookies and on-device storage (local storage, IndexedDB, etc.) to keep you signed in, remember settings and show things quickly. This page explains what we store and why.

1. Essential (cannot be turned off)

Sign-in cookie: an identifier for the device you are signed in on, used only with our servers and stored HttpOnly.

Account list: names and icons of accounts signed in on this device, for switching.

Local copies: copies of settings, posts and messages so they appear instantly, even offline.

Work in progress: drafts and photos or videos being edited (IndexedDB).

2. Functional

Recommendation learning, which you can clear with "Reset recommendations".

Today's usage time for the Wellbeing reminder.

Push subscription details if you allow notifications.

3. Analytics (can be turned off)

If configured, we use Google Analytics or Plausible Analytics to measure feature usage. Google Analytics uses cookies.

Turn off "Help measure usage" in Settings → Data & media to stop sending.

We do not use advertising cookies or cookies that track you across other sites.

4. Clearing

You can delete the Service's cookies and site data in your browser. This signs you out and removes on-device copies and drafts (data on our servers stays).

"Clear cache" in Settings also removes some on-device data.
